E-LEARNING INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER

eLearning Instructional Designer, Chippewa Government Solutions

Location: Sault Saint Marie, Michigan
Summary: Chippewa Government Solutions (CGS) LLC, is hiring for multiple eLearning Instructional Designers (ID) to support the design/development of interactive, online training to support Army combat medics. The ideal candidate will offer demonstrated success working with an integrated team comprised of other IDs, online courseware developers, Subject Matter Experts (SME), and the end client, resulting in design/development of interactive eLearning training solutions on-time and on-budget. The candidate will be expected to work within established project processes/deadlines (independent of candidate’s home base time zone), collaborate with team members, and create project deliverables.

Job responsibilities:
  • Ensure the instructional integrity and educational effectiveness of all training materials produced.
  • Employ adult learning theory principles and learner-centric strategies in courseware designs.
  • Collaborate closely with SMEs and other team members in the development of storyboards that offer engaging and purposeful learning experiences.
  • Design complex level branching and intrinsic feedback loops.
  • Apply proven eLearning best practices for learner engagement and knowledge transfer to include, but are not limited to: simulations, practical exercises, and scenario-based knowledge checks, as applicable during the storyboarding process.
  • Communicate effectively within the framework of an Army training culture.
  • Employ excellent planning and time management skills to ensure storyboards are delivered on schedule and serve as an effective guide to courseware development team members
  • Efficiently interface with team-members using technology-based workflow resources such as MS Teams and SharePoint.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required and as assigned by supervisor.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as an eLearning designer/developer of IMI Level 2-3 and storyboard design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or related discipline. Ideal candidate will have specialization in Instructional Systems Design or Instructional Design Technology.
  • 5 years’ experience in the Instructional Design/Curriculum Development field.
  • Firm understanding of the ADDIE instructional design process
  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively and simplify or streamline complex ideas and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic and flexible environment where priorities and deadlines may change.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interface in a professional manner with corporate Senior-level personnel and Government/Military clients.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience designing Army or Army University distributed learning content for interactive instructional multimedia to include game-based design.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a Government contracting environment.
  • Familiarity with military culture.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Captivate.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems as delivery platforms for eLearning courseware.
  • Able to pass a drug screen and eligible for government security clearance.

Working Conditions:
Confidentiality Required. General office environment. Position requires mobility and prolonged sitting and standing; requires flexible working hours. Travel is required up to 50%.
 
Compensation:
$150-$200K salary; including bonus structure, is available for the right candidate.
 
Work Location: Remote; Sault Saint Marie, Michigan; or Denver, Colorado
